It is amazing to see just how much of our US history took place during Dad's life.

James Ray Sargent, my dad, was the first born of two, and at the end of PROHIBITION and just at the beginning of the GREAT DEPRESSION. Daddy came into the world just after  Franklin Delano Roosevelt became president.  The 3 R's were part of his early years~relief, recovery, and reform

INVENTIONS of his life time-the modern day Helicopter (age 3), NYLON (age 4), Aircraft Jet Engine (age 6), DIGITAL COMPUTER (age 6),  COLOR TV  part 1 and part 2 (age 7) Velcro was Patented in 1955 (age 22),

MAJOR HISTORICAL EVENTS of his life time-WORLD WAR 2 (age 6 to 12), bombing of both Hiroshima and Nagasaki (age 12),

PRESIDENTS of his life time-Roosevelt, Truman, Eisenhower, Kennedy, Johnson, Nixion, Ford, Carter, Reagan, Bush, Clinton, GWBush

Major HISTORICAL issues during his life time-Reign of King George VI (Windsor) (age 3 to 19)
Manhattan Project (age 8 to 12), Nuclear Reactor (age 9), Hypertext (age 12), reign of Queen Elizabeth II (age 19-till he died), Warsaw pact created May 14,1955 (age 22)

BIRTH RANK RELATIONSHIPS-1rst born

I am the first born child of my father.
The first born grandchild of my grandfather.
Born the first Great Grandchild of James & Vercie Sargent, just months before their 50th wedding anniversary.

I am also the oldest cousin of both immediate families on both mother and father's side.
